as far as i know, there has not been any scientific conclusion to why people dream. some believe that dreams are just impertinent visions our restless brains brew up, with ingredients from memories and knowledge we absorb in a conscious state. but personally, i like to believe that any dream, no matter how absurd, has its interpretation. it may even be prophetic.
everything happens for a reason!
i'm sure most of us have experienced a falling sensation that jerks us out of our sleep, but never gave second thought to its cause. well, i read that it symbolizes insecurities and anxiety, or that there may be something you feel powerless against. i'll be sure to refer to this checklist the next time i experience that.
on the other end of the spectrum, if you have a dream in which you were flying, it means you feel on top of the world, in control of everything, and everything else your ego can boast. i remember 2 separate dreams of this category. -winks- it was a while back, though.
while on this topic... lucid dreaming is when you realize you are dreaming, and subsequently take control of your dream. you then find yourself in some sort of world simulator, or a virtual world made more 'real' (but still fake). the good news, this is a skill that can be learned, the bad news, it obviously isn't going to be easy. but man, what will i give to learn it. maybe then i can build a log cabin up in the mountains, and get myself a huge white stallion. or dance on the surface of a lake, under the moonlight. or soar in the skies like an eagle. or explore the deepest oceans. or take a hot bath in lava. or just simply have the most romantic time, at the most romantic place, with a special person. i'm such a dreamer~ ... time to knock off, dreaming rocks.
