i don't wanna grow up

since young, i've always wanted to grow up fast, enter the real world, and do my stuff.
but earlier, as i was taking the bus past my alma mater, all the way to KAP, i recalled the fun times my friends and i walked that route late at night. i don't know why, it just came to me. how carefree were the days, nothing about responsibilities, just enjoy the moment. that's when the thought hit me - i don't wanna grow up.
those kinda days will become history the moment i step into the adult world. university will be the last ephemeral period of my existence that i may indulge in such unrestrained lifestyle. i'll be damned sure to make the best of it.
PS: it's one year from the day i got my driving license, whee.

went dinnering with a good friend of my parents (also my dad's business associate) and his family. i love to sit in when the adults talk, especially businessmen, there's always things to learn.
like how every little detail matters. any idea where BATA originated from? czech republic. if you're a BATA promoter, you better know that. if your customer from egypt is here, feed him nothing related to israel. better make sure you know what's halal and what's not.
volume of your voice matters. if you're a customer, you're almost always right. feel any injustice, just ask for the GM, in a loud voice. more often than not, the case will not escalate to that level. note: try nothing of this sort in 3rd world countries.

we all know columbus found america, but who gave america her name? chinese did. rumour has it on the streets that on board columbus's ship, there were many chinese cooks. columbus, on hitting land (america), first thought it was china. there was a big hoo-ha. the chinese cooks, boggled by the commotion, came out of the kitchen and yelled in cantonese: 'hai meh lei ka?' (what's that about?) columbus thought the chinese were saying the place's called 'america'. from then on, the land kept the name.

it feels good to be wanted in a team. especially when you arrive late to your teammates' cheering, and your opponents' moaning. and when you are indispensible. it can't get any better, hah!

i think it's time to stay away from night cycling for a while! anyway, what a way to start the chalet for weiyang, it took only like 5 hours before he became like that, haha! gee, take care man.
anyway, a recount of the incident, for bad time's sake, hah!
so we were out night-cycling, along bedok i believe at the time of incident. we planned to overtake these 2 lagging tortoises in front of us, so kenneth went first, then dennis, then i. just to check on the last guy (weiyang), i glanced back.... voila! poor chap's tumbling on the ground, before recovering with a stagger. one look at the way he's gripping his arm, any idiot will know it's no joking matter. (like kenneth said, good thing it's nothing to do with the bones/joints.)
so i reached him first, and knowing nuts about first aid, i kept my mouth shut and examined the wound (for the sake of curiosity). next came dennis, firing a string of frantic questions, of course marked with concern. 10 minutes later, kenneth finally returned! back to me, the only thing i know about injuries is, do we need to call the ambulance? so that's what i asked. weiyang advised calling 1777, so that i did. they turned me towards the emergency hotline though, i must've made it sound too serious over the phone. anyway, weiyang was suggesting, 'call 1777 again'. dennis shot back, 'call 1177 again?'
at that, i chuckled to myself, dennis's not thinking straight. all these while, i was kinda hoping we'll end up calling 995! how exciting can that get! but pity, a taxi approached, and dennis flagged it down quick. kudos! off to changi general hospital they went!
oh, i realize i haven't said anything about the wound. so imagine a stone with the dimension 3cm by 1.5cm by 1cm lodged into your arm, then ripped out, leaving a crater... that's what it looks like. much blood were wasted on the ground! being the seventh month and what-not, kenneth and i fled the scene (with 4 bikes) as soon as dennis/weiyang departed for the hospital.
alright, i'm a little lazy to talk about the aftermath, so that's me, signing off now.
author's comment: the story may be exaggerated in one way or another.

had a real sweet dream yesterday.
do our dreams really reflect what we want? because i have always led myself to believe that i've long since banished these thoughts into the darkest corner of no-return at the back of my mind. yet now they re-surface, relentlessly crushing the wall of defense i put up, disturbing the stability and normalcy i restored, tearing away bit by bit my sanctuary.
the dream was as unsettling as fulfilling. fulfilling what's otherwise unlikely in the world of the realist. unsettling as it zooms me out to dream world, evoking myriads of thought. just as well, i'll take it as a free night movie.
back to dreaming.
